Dr. Sergey Leo Shealy-Sorin, M.D. DABFM, fondly known as “Dr. S,” holds the title of Medical Director at the esteemed Shealy-Sorin Wellness Institute. He is committed to upholding the legacy of his legally adopted heir, the renowned Dr. Norm C. Shealy, “Father of Holistic Medicine,” who retired on his 90th birthday in December 2022.

Dr. S has dedicated his life’s work to carrying forward the mantle of holistic healing. Hailing from a lineage of medical pioneers, Dr. S had always envisioned himself as a healer, yet his journey took a drastic turn when he was diagnosed with colon cancer in 2007, a brush with fate that would forever transform his understanding of medical practice. Despite the odds, Dr. S emerged from this encounter with an unwavering commitment to holistic healing, and a passion for empowering others to take control of their well-being.

He was named Top Doctor of the Year in Holistic Medicine by the International Association of Top Professionals in 2021. He has an advanced certificate in Health Care Management and has served as a Medical Director at several organizations, including the Bath, NY VA Hospital. With more than 25 years in the industry, his areas of expertise include Urgent Care, Occupational Medicine, and Emergency Medicine, with a holistic approach to pain management, anxiety, depression, chronic disease management, general wellness, hormone therapy, anti-aging, and regenerative medicine.

“Leo” is not just a middle name for him; he strongly identifies with the magnificent creature that is the lion. Despite being wounded, he has fought with unyielding determination to come out even stronger. Like the lion, he has developed the ability to adapt and persist in the face of adversity, embodying the animal’s courage, strength, and resilience in his daily practice. His belief that “God does not make junk” is a testament to his incredible character. His unwavering passion and ability to empathize with his patients are why so many of his patients hold him in the highest regard.
